What can I control?
Really just me, my decisions in life, the way I show up for those I love, the way I present myself in the world…
Like most men and women of color I do the dance of over delivering to make sure I stay on the right side of opinion, leaving no room for doubt. Stay funny, stay positive and add value. This is who I am naturally but I would be lying if I said I didn’t wish there were days where I didn’t have to think about being “on” when I step into the world. Just a day where I could look as pissed off as I feel inside and not worry about being considered “intimidating”.
I could spend my days boiling up inside about this injustice but I choose a different mentality and choose to control what I can. Again, thats me.
My body is my temple and I don’t take that for granted, we only get one body and one life. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. This is why you’ll catch me with a drink and a smoke on any given day but I stay aware of the balance needed for wellness and you’ll notice that quality counts.
As simple as it sounds self care is what sets me up for success. It’s the little things; making your bed in the morning, keeping an organized house, feeding yourself nourishing food and taking care of your skin, the largest organ in our body. We tend to forget this one. As we go through life our skin is exposed to everything first, soaking up the good and the bad. We have sun which heals and can hurt. Chemicals that lead you to believe they are safe that can do the most damage, being absorbed through our skin and leading to hormonal imbalances and toxic overload.
Funny enough over the years I knew instinctively that I wanted to find products for my skin that support my wellness but especially for men this has proven virtually impossible. I would steal my ladies skin care products, buy expensive beard oils and use natural products like coconut oil but never was able to find the right combination. Until now…
Caralista’s products are oil based which speaks to my skin in a way it can understand, also an oil base. It’s my beard oil, skin care, and medicine all in one. When you choose natural products your body knows what to do with them both inside and out. My advice is to ALWAYS READ LABELS, if you cannot pronounce it your body doesn’t understand it either.
